Give the color wheel to the artist not the engineer. The engineer is more concerned with making the wheel spin than how it actually looks. It took me time to understand that people are different and imperfect and that's ok. That my mind is very different from that of another. That creation is the very act of all of those things coming together like a symphony. People are just notes and by themselves they may be beautiful but together they’re a masterpiece.
My father and I do not get along. I always thought it was due to abandonment issues. And that it was his fault because he just didn’t know how to be a father. It’s so easy to blame others for our problems. Because generally we expect people to fix or pay for what they broke. But the very act of expecting, hoping or having faith that someone will save us, is wrong. The same way my friend makes a mistake by burning my floor. I proceeded to tell them that it is okay. And fix it myself. I didn’t cause it but it was easier for me to fix it.
But relationships are not floors. And the people who burn us aren’t always friends. So how do we fill holes that we didn’t make? Do we ignore it and throw a carpet over it in hopes that we can still retain the beauty of the outside? I think that our character comes from how we choose to naturally deal with our problems. And our higher self is the person who identifies how we want to deal with it but chooses differently because we have outweighed all perspectives. So how do we fix the hole?
There is no right answer. Everyone will fix it differently. Some ways will be more appealing than others. Outsourcing the solution being the most appealing. Or figuring it out yourself so if it happens again you aren't dependent on your outsourcing. And knowing that there will always be the possibility of burning again doesn’t make the fixing easier but it does make it go away faster. Buying you time to experience and take the home for the beauty it is. And if you leave the holes there and decide to embrace its dark contrast against the curvature of the floors. Then you are an artist and if you decide to fix the holes then you are an engineer. And both are amazing and essential to the world.
